The other mechs' attacks later revealed what kind of energy shielding the Siege Cathedral was equipped with.

Origin watches the battle on a multi-screen communications array.
A shadowy figure watches the battle from the safety of his command center.

"Hmmm.. They may want to know about this. Origin to Kathy squad."

The panel shifts its view and some familiar (albeit slightly less visible) faces appear on the screen.

"It appears the floating citadel is guarded by a hexagonal shield that runs closer to its physical barriers than we initially suspected. I'll admit that I am curious to learn about this place and the technology he is using."

"You already knew that, but the opportunity for a strategic insertion might be within our grasp. Depending on radius and velocity, it might be possible to have Kathy throw a primed Void Bomb at the citadel in order to let a squad of Commanders into his base. Failing that, we can attempt this when the shield is down."

The cloaked units converse amongst themselves.
They turn to eachother and briefly consider the notion.
"Arrite," one of them chirps back, "s'worth a shot."

"Consider this a tertiary objective. It isn't at all necessary, but it would help us greatly if we're able to pull it off. Origin out."

"And now, we wait..."
