Continuing my nonproductivity streak, I sat around playing various Command & Conquer titles while completely neglecting to work on anything of importance. I am starting to get really behind on certain things, such as typing up the game series plotline, the HSMB plotline for the first episode. In addition to that, I am starting to consider new art styles that might be easier to work with in Flash. The websites also are not coding themselves, the lazy bastards.

Yet another website layout was drawn last night, but I might actually design this one. It's a solid idea that has never worked before. I developed more of the first episode of HSMB, but there's still a long ways to go before I actually start animating it. It seems that all I do these days is search for new ways to waste time instead of working on what I want to work on. Perhaps this stems from my California-born habit of occupying myself with not-homework, but the only exception is I never have homework to do over here, so it's more of a hindrance than a distraction. But those games aren't going to play themselves.

I have done a major amount of work on Impure Creation's proposed website layout. Shocking, right? The TAKS tests were all ridiculously easy, even the science one, which is surprising considering the last science class I had was 10th grade biology. Using a modified version of my cupcakeind.com article system, I can directly implement different code between the global header and footer by using a index.php?page= variable, which gets the contents of a text file and incorporates them into itself. I can also re-use the flash viewer from my previous attempt at designing a layout, which means that all I really have to do is connect dots.

I finished the staff page of the website last night. The staff page contains such oddities as the Sock Ninjer (which is myself using tube socks as a mask), a Georgian Riot Squad, and a glass of water. It's almost exciting to know that I just might be able to have content up before this July. Now that I think about it, I'll probably end up waiting until after July, just so I can say that the site went a year without a layout beyond a flash animation displayed on the index page. No progress has been made on HSMB since the completion of the intro.

March 13, 2008 – Breaking Point Reached
I think I've reached my breaking point as far as this [CENSORED] one-size-fits-all education system goes. This is primarily due to me just finding out that I have a 60 in English due to missing two test grades, one due to [circumstances beyond my control] (aka Orthos), and the other due to nobody ever told us to turn it (the essay) in. The breaking point is slightly lowered due to the presence of certain people such as T.J., who seems to be under the illusion that I'm his bro and do not find him annoying at all, which couldn't be farther from the truth. I could find just about anyone annoying if I tried hard enough. Especially that [CENSORED] who just came in and tried to take my lunch. Why does everybody think that's [CENSORED] funny? You do not mess with a fat kid and his food.

Today is off to a much better start; after R.J. and I fiddled around with difficult technicals the entire class period to attempt to get the DVD player working, Ms. Wood decided to put in a VHS, and it is now guaranteed that she won't be completely destroyed by her second period. I actually made progress with a cast revision of my story, and am coming up with tons of new ideas for my game series. Overall, it might be a very productive week/end if I can stop playing games long enough to work on the website, which looks quite good for a layout that doesn't have any images yet.

I did some more work on the new layout, but I'm considering scrapping it in favor of yet another. What a surprise. I got some work done on the documentation of the game series, but not much. I've also gotten some ideas for some other stories, and I'm also considering what backend to use for the website. Jester's Hat Entertainment Corporation has been dropped in favor of the dual dominance that is Impure Creation Entertainment and Socom Squad Inc.

I've done some research into Video Game Addiction for my first period research paper. There are some interesting points of view regarding the subject. My dad probably thinks I'm addicted to the internet, and maybe I am, but rightfully so; the forum I manage at socomsquids.net comprises a large part of my online social life. I'm also looking into the old Commodore 64 cracking scene, and it's things like that which make me wish I was born in the late 60s instead of the early 90s.

I'm in the process of remaking the oldschool style menu for HSMB 1. Time slipped away from me last night, so all I got done was the pixellization of the Newgrounds tank logo. As far as the website goes, I think I'll stick with the layout that I have, but I definitely need to at least redesign the header/navigation flash. If I ever need a plotline for a future episode of HSMB, I thought of a great wheelchair racing episode where the main character must challenge the reigning champion, Crazy Tom, and beat him in order to learn some sort of secret that will give him an advantage against whoever it is he's fighting against.

Time slipped away from me once again due to a massive amount of reading material I decided to go through on everything2.com. I did have a chance to create a preloader and implement the music of the introductory sequence for HSMB, but it turned out to have an unsatisfactory filesize, so I might use one of the other two audio sequences before creating the intro. I support the Official Coalition of Ms. Goodson Buying Snacks, and I'm here to say, I better see you at Wal-Mart tonight, even though I only go to Wal-Mart on Mondays. socomsquids.net will go down for a brief period later today due to the hosting service relocating all of their servers from Kentucky to Connecticut.
