Started working on the movie part of HSMB and I was able to complete a
Commodore 64-style intro for my animation group The Crystal Sunset. Following a
redesign of the flash header and the addition of flash.php and a few other
files relating to that system, Impure Creation will be good to go. If I decide
to make Impure Creation Entertainment a video game creation agency, I might
take the Intellivision approach with some of the games produced, meaning that
there will be a low number of people working on simpler games. With three
people or less assigned to each task (programming, character design, sfx,
music, background art, storyline/plotline implementation, and so on), things
get done quickly and efficiently.
April ANNOYANCE Day 2008
I zoned
out almost completely last night; I didn't even think about my various
projects, I just watched animations on Newgrounds all day. I think I'll remake
the TCS intro tonight. I might also redesign the characters for HSMB with the
line tool instead of the brush tool. My name is [REDACTED] and I am

Poked around in c64 demoscene archives
last night and found a great Machine Language primer called Coder's World. TJ
really needs to learn the meaning of 'personal space'. Seriously, it's every
day with this annoying coming over and placing hands on me act, and he must
think that I think it's funny or something, when, in truth, the only thing that
annoys me more than him is people trying to talk to me when I'm on my way to my
next class.

I started working on the intro last
night and managed to create a working character set movie clip which I can
control with
onClipEvent(load) { gotoAndStop(“letter”); }This way, I don't have to manually pixel in every single letter; all I have to do is place movie clips next to eachother and modify the actionscript.

I created the introduction for HSMB episode 1 and it
is somehow more awesome than the previous revision's. I also did some minor
work on the Crystal Sunset intro. I have a feeling that today is going to be a
fabulous day, but that could just be because I had a good first period. Plus, I
think I'm contracting secondhand stupid from whoever keeps rubbing their greasy
forehead on this monitor.

I put together an intro for the nonexistent group named
the Spontaneous Collaboration Society over the weekend. Nothing much other than
reading about game design and watching animations on the internet was done.
That seems to be a trend with me recently. I read an article on Yahoo! News
this morning about how the US is pretty suck right now due to the rising cost
of living. Lately it seems that I have billions of ideas but zero work effort
and concentration.

I really have no idea what to do
with myself anymore, especially considering that I am beginning to see the game
series in its present state as a bad idea if ICE will be taking the
Intellivision approach. I suppose I might as well develop HSMB while playing it
by ear, and see where that gets me. I finished a part for the [ss] we suck
collab last night. Self-depreciating humor is fun to make.

Sudden inspiration allowed me to get through a large chunk of the first
'episode' of another, completely-unrelated-to-anything story which I'm working
on. While I think of new header layouts for Impure Creation and loathe the lack
of activity on the Socom Squad forums, I can't help but wonder what's with this
constant crash-and-burn pattern of afterschool laziness.

I'm
gathering ideas for stories and the organization of the website. More
(professional) layout ideas have popped up. The rest of this journal has been
cut short because my brain has short-circuted due to all of that arduous
physical labor.

I do stuff like play Starcraft all
day and then wonder where the time went. While new scenarios for my stories and
games pour in, I continue to fail to document them. Maybe I ought to type some
of this stuff up instead of failing to do so and then talking about it to waste
space in the journal.

Yesterday was delightfully present. I have thought of a course of actions that
my new story can take. Hopefully I will begin to write it soon. I have decided
that a non-full-page layout might be the way to go for Impure Creation, but
such a decision requires further study. Let's all raise our glasses to the
hand-in-hand connection which productivity and inspiration share!

I started creating a rap about
school and how much I hate it last night. My aunt said that she'd pass it
around the [REDACTED] office today. Flavoring excitement. I coded a
small but usable layout for Impure Creation based on an old file from 2004 I
had laying around.

One part of me
wants to declare yesterday a miserable failure, and the other wants to declare
it a success due to innovations in thinking. Ideas for platformers and
sidescrolling games are now constantly being thought up, and I'm actually
documenting them :O If nothing else, it will give me some test projects to work
on if I ever decide to pursue a career in video game design.

2008 – CRY BLOOD FOR ME
All I have are ideas. More website layout design
ideas, more story ideas, and more video game ideas have all been coming to me.
It's a pity that all I'm capable of doing when I get home is watching my brain
and work effort fizzle out. I reminisced about an old game creation engine
named ZZT yesterday. There exists a community named Z2 which put out a sort of
compilation/magazine named ZZTV, and even though I wasn't part of the community
until 2004, thanks to the older issues of ZZTV I feel like I've been there
since the late 90s. Such is the power of the artist; to drag others, kicking
and screaming, into the past.
April 25, 2008 – THE RETURN OF CSP
I
started working on a ZZT game last night and I redid my old Cracked Skull
Productions introduction screen from 2004. I am quite pleased with how it
turned out. HEY KATIE STOP DOING KAHL'S WORK FOR HIM HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO
DO THINGS ON HIS OWN OK. We've been reading The Crucible in English class, and
I have found it to be quite a swizzeriffic tale thus far. I'll see if I can
manage to design one of my new layout ideas in Flash over the weekend.
